I'm In Love With The Slip-On

Slip-On trainers have been around for a while, especially popular with Vans. However, this year, they have made a solid comeback, with the 90s trend as inspiration, the new styles have also incorporated pastel colours, snakeskin, pony, metallics and geometric prints.

As you've seen from previous posts, I love my trainers, but I also like my flats too, and the slip-on trend is a happy medium between the two. You can dress them up with a pair of smart joggers, or a full midi skirt, or dress them down with a pair of jeans or denim shorts and simple white t-shirt.
I have had my eye on a few of these styles since last year, but the weather wasn't working in my favour, but now is the time to rock this style.

STYLE IDEAS

Dress Up
If you feel like dressing up, but want comfort then team your slip-ons with these suggestions:
  • full skater skirt
  • smart/formal joggers
  • blazer (pastel colours for the season)
  • suits & co-ords
  • oversized white shirt
  • lace tops

Dress Down
Slip-ons also work if you just want something quick to put on and add some texture or colour to a simple outfit

  • casual joggers
  • jeans
  • oversized white tee
  • sweatshirts
  • denim shorts (for the summer)
  • all black outfits (add something metallic or colourful to break up the colour)
  • skater/tube skirt
  • skater/floaty dresses
  • jersey tops
I'll be testing out some of these outfit suggestions, ookout for upcoming posts featuring no.9 and no. 14, I own those two pairs but also have my eye either no. 1 or no. 4, since I'm a fan of pastel blue.
