Jessica and I spent our Saturday at London Fashion Weekender, which had a variety of events scheduled for the day.
Jessica & I
First event on the list was Trend Catwalk which focused on four tends this season - Precious Metals, Flower Power, Lace Embrace and Good Sport.
PRECIOUS METALS
This style incorporated not only accessorise but clothes too. Working with vibrant hues to fit the warm weather and balance it out with iridescent or metals to catch that light.
This trend has taken inspiration from the catwalks of Antonia Beradi, Balmain, Marni and many more designers.

FLOWER POWER
This look upgraded the flower trend from last year, by making floral prints graphic, tessellating them all over making them an ideal co ordinated piece, from dresses, blouses, blazers, trousers and even shoes.
I'm not a huge fan of floral prints, but this updated trend looks like a contender this summer for those who like a feminine look but can also be an option for those who aren't too keen on skirts and prefer the fit of trousers and shorts instead.
This trend has taken inspiration from the catwalks Erdem, Jonathan Saunders and Preen, Ted Baker

LACE EMBRACE
This look offers an upgrade from the A/W lace by stripping itself of dark colours and embracing a lighter colour palette. This season the lace is loose and feminine, but still sexy.
This trend has taken inspiration from the catwalks Christopher Kane, Diane von Furstenburg and Oscar de la Renta

GOOD SPORT
This was my favourite trend of the four because I feel it reflects my style the most. This trend has shown its here to stay for another summer but this year it has a more luxe, high-end feel, with rah-rah pleated skirts, vibrant colours and the sock and slipper combo.
This trend has taken inspiration from the catwalks T by Alexander Wang, Peter Pilotto and Stella McCartney.

After the trend catwalk, we did a little browsing, trying to refrain ourselves from buying some of the great pieces by designers.
You know we love gold, so these two pieces showcased by Julien Macdonald were a favourite.
Below is a dress by Sass and Bide, which seemed popular with fellow fashion lovers. If my birthday had not passed, this would have been a consideration for turning twenty-one! I liked the colours and beading added to the dress, I figured it would be a showstopper for the summer.
We also came upon a designer called Baukjen, who specialised in accessories like bags and phone covers. Their collection was inspired by reptile skins and the use of natural tones, which will work well for the summer, as well as electric blue (one of my summer colours for the season)
I took a picture of this jacket not only because I liked it, but to show it looked like the one I was wearing that day, which I managed to find in the Zara sale. Bargain!
After shopping around we went to an industry talk about the realities of fashion blogging, by Remotely Fashion creators, Miriam and Siobhan.
These ladies recently won the Fashion Bloggers of the Year award by the Clothes Show Live. Having met whilst they were abroad, these two fashionistas were brought together by their love of fashion, which in turn brought about their award winning blog - Remotely Fashion. Their tips were useful, and essentially showed us how it is possible to get recognition for doing something you love.
These Fashionistas caught our eyes, they screamed fashion from head-to-toe
Footwear of the Day (FOTD)
Tag Line - Office Shoes
Dark Nights - Office Shoes
Look out for upcoming posts on where to find these trends on the high street.
